Welcome to Happy Hot Dogs
Hi, I’m Trish, the person behind Happy Hot Dogs, and usually the one answering your messages too.
We’re based in rural Queensland, where our dachshunds are very much part of the family. They’re under our feet in the kitchen, curled up on the couch, following us around the property and generally making themselves involved in whatever we’re doing.
I love this breed for all the reasons dachshund people understand, the confidence, the stubbornness, the enormous personalities packed into little bodies, and the incredibly close bond they form with their people.
Happy Hot Dogs is really built around something simple:
Small dogs. Big personalities. Happy homes.
Breeding, to me, is about much more than producing puppies. It’s about taking responsibility for the little dogs I bring into the world and doing my best to give each one the right start.
I love learning about dachshund genetics, colours and coat patterns, but temperament will always matter just as much. Every puppy develops their own personality and quirks, and I’d rather take the time to find the right match than simply find the quickest home.
